Satellite imagery shows Russia is refilling its long-term military storage bases with new and refurbished armored vehicles after emptying many of them earlier in the war, according to open-source analysts and Radio Svoboda. At the 22nd Central Tank Reserve Base in Kostroma, about 500 km from the Baltic states, analysts identified around 57 new T-90M tanks, along with new BTR-82A and BMP-3M vehicles. Several hundred refurbished tanks and infantry fighting vehicles have also appeared at a base in Altai Krai, and other sites are receiving new artillery systems. Analysts say Russia’s tank production, estimated at 200–290 T-90Ms a year, now appears to be outpacing frontline losses, partly because drones have made tank-heavy assaults less common.
