Some construction choices don’t become expensive until 15 years later. 👀 This ceiling texture is a perfect example. It’s completely random. No consistent spacing. No consistent overlap. No repeatable pattern. Which means the day someone needs to open that ceiling for a repair or remodel, matching the original finish becomes nearly impossible. Now instead of patching one area… you may be skimming out the whole ceiling just to make everything look intentional again. 😭 Brad says it reminds him of... Oh dude. This is called making your drywall impossible to match ever. It's called the impossible to match texture. 'Cause look, there's no rhyme or reason to it. It's completely random. It overlaps, it doesn't overlap, there's gaps, there's not gaps. Like, people who do stuff like this, I mean fine, whatever. Like I don't really care 'cause it's just making more work for the rest of us. 'Cause eventually we're gonna go in and my company like mine will go in and renovate and we'll be like, 'Hey, we're never gonna match that texture in a billion years, so you gotta pay us to redo the whole ceiling.' And we're just gonna wind up skimming out the whole ceiling and either doing knockdown or just a flat finish. But nobody's ever gonna pay to match that 'cause it's pretty much impossible. Also, it's like from the 80s, so come on. Don't do 80s texture guys. Skip trowel is different. Skip trowel, respect for skip trowel. That can be matched.
