In the next two to three years, hosting is going to become one of the highest paid jobs for women in any industry. In fact, there are already jobs available right now paying anywhere from $300 to $400,000 to simply just curate and host community events for the company. And women, since the beginning of time, literally caveman days, are naturally and intuitively better at this than men. Sorry, it's literally in our biology. So if this is a career that you want to pursue, here's your practical two-step guide on how you get there. Number one, start hosting the events. Don't wait for the job or wait for permission. You don't need any money, you don't need a sponsor, you don't need a venue. Simply just book a reservation at your local wine bar for like six or seven people, invite a couple people in the industry and ask them to bring a plus one. And do that weekly. You will start to be known as the community person and people want to get to know you so that they can get invited to that circle and be part of that group. And number two, a common misconception and unfortunately I might be responsible for this misconception is that you need a glamorous house and a private chef and all these fancy things to actually attract and create this room. But that couldn't be further from the truth. The one thing that makes events stand out over everyone else's, the one where people actually want to come to, the ones that have value, the ones that companies in the future will want to pay a ton of money for is who are you bringing into that room? Who do you know? It's curation. And the answer is not building massive databases and CRMs and grinding coffee chats and networking. Legit people just want to hang out with other legit people. So you need to be known for one thing. You need to be exceptionally good at one skill. Genuinely have something that someone can come to you for. That can come in the form of a personal brand, that can come in the form of expertise or skill that you have that's very rare that you're good at. Real recognizes real. If you don't have an experience or a personal brand or an expertise that someone want to know you for, no amount of time, effort or money is going to build a room that other companies would actually want to pay for. And that's the truth.
