Overnight, a blue wave crashing through Republican strongholds. Georgia, you did it! We just took back Texas. Michigan, we did it! Voters delivering President Trump a resounding rebuke. Democrats taking control of the House and Senate, flipping red seats in Iowa, Kansas, Ohio, Maine, North and South Carolina, and even in Texas, where Democrats turned the ruby red state blue. Gina Inahosa defeating incumbent Republican Governor Greg Abbott, and Democrat James Tallarico winning one of the most watched Senate contests in the country against Republican Ken Paxton. Tonight, we defeated Goliath. Democrats handing Republicans defeat after defeat in deep red states across the country. In South Carolina, a state that Trump won three times, Democrat Annie Andrews upsetting the President's hand-picked candidate Darlene Graham, the sister of the late Senator Lindsey Graham. And in Georgia, where Senator John Ossoff soundly defeated Republican challenger Mike Collins. Ossoff, the only incumbent Democrat who faced a challenge in a state that Trump won in 2024. The American people have rebuked the depravity, corruption, and incompetence of the failed lame duck President Donald J. Trump. And Democrat Keisha Lance Bottoms making history, becoming the first Black woman to ever be elected governor of a state. Georgia, we sent a message loud and clear. Across the Midwest, Democrats scoring major victories too. In Kansas, Adam Hamilton defeating incumbent Republican Senator Roger Marshall, becoming the first Democrat elected there in nearly a century. Herbert Hoover was president the last time a Democrat was elected in Kansas. It was Prohibition, you wouldn't be having your drinks over here! And another historic first in Michigan, Abdul El-Sayed becoming the first Muslim elected to the US Senate. After President Trump launched Islamophobic attacks on his faith, El-Sayed sent a stark message. Donald, look, I know you struggle with my name. So after JD swears me in in January, you could just go on and call me Senator. In Ohio, a clean sweep for the top two Democrats, Sherrod Brown winning his Senate race, and Dr. Amy Acton becoming the first female governor of the state after a contentious race against Republican Vivek Ramaswamy, who released an ad with Acton's estranged mother saying she couldn't be trusted. Because of your hard work, Ohio has chosen unity and decency over division and hate. In Iowa, Josh Turick flipping that Senate seat blue, beating Trump-backed candidate Ashley Hinson. And overnight in Maine, the end of an era. Five-term Republican Senator Susan Collins conceding her race to Democrat Troy Jackson. The people of Maine have elected that logger to the United States Senate. The night a massive defeat for President Trump, who put himself front and center in this election, over and over again urging voters to act like he was on the ballot. As the Republican defeats rolled in, Trump distancing himself. I wasn't on the ballot. But his policies were, and voters resoundingly rejected them. From his tariffs to the war with Iran and its impact on gas prices. Well, I say this, congratulations to the Democrats. They did a good job. They've been looking for this one for 11 years, and they finally got it. But I don't view it as a hit on me. And the President says he is willing to work with Democrats, but it's unclear exactly what that would look like. He is already vowing to be a veto machine and act as a block, and the President this morning facing the political reality that his power over his party and the movement he built is now greatly diminished.
