Reply to pengwen314's comment Someone please tag me when she does the glass cupcake this fandom was willing to do anything for their ship to become a couple Voltron was an animated show in the 80s that got rebooted in 2016 it was worked on by Mir Studios, Dreamworks, and it was released on Netflix upon its first season it became super popular especially on Tumblr and a huge reason for this was the ship klance Klance aka Keith and Lance was shipped by everybody it's hard to describe just how big of a deal Klance was not even just in Voltron but in fandom culture in general the more that Voltron went on the more people shipped Klance and the Voltron staff was getting into it voice actor storyboard artist all of the above would hint and joke about Klance well it was becoming apparent to Klance fans that they were being baited and that Voltron wasn't actually gonna make Klance a real thing there were rumors that someone sent cupcakes with glass in them to the Dreamworks studio because they wouldn't make Klance canon I think this rumor isn't true just because there's not a lot of evidence but don't worry I have other crazy stuff that the Voltron fandom did like a Tumblr user stealing 1400 from charity... to buy Voltron merch the staff and voice actors of Voltron were sent threats by fans constantly a fan of the ship sheith (which was Shiro and Keith) fought a bunch of Klance fans at a convention with a Keith body pillow in hand Dirty Launbee one of the biggest Voltron fanfics had to be taken Summary: down Notes: I wrote this for me, and then the fandom made it toxic. I've healed. I've made friends through this fandom. I've found my love of Voltron again. But I need to be rid of the thing that holds me back. Ao3 won't let me delete it, so I've done what I can to cleanse myself, my life, and my head space. because the user who made it was being harassed Summary: so badly someone got to go to the studio where Voltron was drawn and they posted images online the studio said "no no no no delete those" the user was actually compliant and urged reposters to do the same thing however there was one Klance fan that refused to delete them from their and they told Studio Mir that they weren't gonna take them down unless they made Klance canon there was a woman on Twitter with the username Klance and Voltron fans harassed her because they wanted the username and those were just events in the Voltron fandom that were documented the Voltron fandom was unfortunately just toxic like this every day anyways I'm working on a tanacon video but let me know if there's any other fandom stories you want me to cover
