So, for me, it's been over a year since I went through Y Combinator. I went through in Winter 22 last year. And so here's a real experience of what it was like for me as a founder to go through YC and do I think it was worth it. So, first off, I got into YC with an API idea and I quickly iterated or pivoted, whatever you want to call it. Um, and the YC partners were super helpful in helping me think through why I should pivot, what was wrong with my previous idea and kind of the best path forward to validate this new idea or new iteration that I had. So, the other thing I see really has gone for it is they can build on past experiences. So they obviously can't tell you what's a good idea, but they can really help you avoid bad ideas. They've seen 50 other teams probably tackle a similar problem in, you know, mobile or social media or whatever and they can really build on their past experiences. YC really puts pressure on you, which I think is a good thing. They tell you to ship fast and often and you do have an artificial, you know, demo day deadline. The main thing I didn't like was the YC deal. I wish I gave up less equity and how short it was.
Their other posts in the index, biggest breakout first.
