Meet the Senate's biggest celebrity: Babydog. The Senate's celebrity English bulldog. She was cheered at the Republican National Convention. She has an official government portrait and is constantly swarmed by fans at the Capitol. Babydog is the near-constant companion of West Virginia Senator Jim Justice, a Republican. She's built her own political brand and likely has the most bipartisan support of any figure on Capitol Hill. She's so more popular than I, and that's okay with me. Is she the most popular new member of the Senate? She — she might be. She might be. The five year old clocks in at 60 pounds and travels from West Virginia by private plane, and is then wheeled around the Capitol in her signature wagon. She likes chicken nuggets and apparently identifies as a Republican. Senators of both parties are obsessed with Babydog and clamor for a photo with her. I need to be friends with this dog. We all want to be friends with Babydog. Oh my gosh. Oh, yeah. Right behind the ear. What's up Babydog? I got a story to tell you. Just as good looking as your owner, yes. Justice acts as Babydog's stage parent, making sure everyone gets a photo with her and that she is camera ready. He at times looked on in amazement at the attention. You all are a little deranged. What do you think of all that?
