I've got a side hustle SaaS app that makes $550 a month and the question I get asked the most is how do I market it, how do I get users? Blah blah blah. For ads and simply no, I do not pay for ads and I'm gonna quick how I marketed specifically the app that I talked about in this video, which is called Cover Letter GPT. It's a cover letter generator that lets you upload your CV and paste the job description and make cover letters for you with AI that you can then highlight text and uh have it instantly edit the cover letter in line, like really easily. And then manage all the cover letters. Did to market it was do a product hunt launch. Product hunt launch is a bit hard to get seen or get at the top of the list, um, but it really helps you to put your whole marketing package together, like pictures, videos or your messaging. Yeah, so start with that. Get all that stuff together and then you already have a good idea of like, uh, start talking about your app. Also, if you want to see the specific product hunt launch that I did for this app, as well as some of the blog articles and content I wrote, I wrote a whole article about it which I will link to in my bio. Then I went on to subreddits and aired my app in both developer subreddits and uh indie hacker side project SaaS subreddits as well as in job search subreddits. But I wasn't spamming, I just like comment asking about good ways of generating cover letters. Like, um, if you're using AI, you can try these tips, uh, try these prompts or try Cover Letter GPT that I made. You can do three free trials, three free generations, it'll do it all for you. Then I wrote blog posts talking about my app. Um, it's important to know that I left my app open source, um, and that allowed me to talk about it on Reddit on developer circles. Cause then it's code copy it, make your own version if you want. But yeah, I wrote blog posts, talked about it on Twitter, talked about it on Reddit. Doing this kind of stuff led to getting interviewed by Indie Hackers.com, which is a, uh, platform and forum for people, uh, developers and people building, um, side projects, SaaS apps and stuff. And, uh, yeah, that leads to more exposure. I'm not sure how many of customers, um, mostly like developers and other entrepreneurs, but all of this talking about it, just keep spreading the word. People know about it, they might, um, suggest it to other people on Reddit or something. So yeah, this works really well. And yeah, the other thing, just keep doing it. Like write follow up blog posts about your progress. Go back on Reddit and post again, look for new comments, look for posts that you can comment on, um, just you shouldn't let up, shouldn't be discouraged if you think people start using it and like it, then keep pushing it.
