i can't STAND someone who thinks the entire world around them is a threat. the person that i truly have no patience for and like frankly cannot stand is a bitch who thinks that there's danger lurking behind every corner and that every person who's like existing in their vicinity or like god forbid made eye contact with them or like looked in their direction is like out to get them and like murder them. the thing that made me think of this today is that like the parking situation at my day job is terrible and a lot of the times guests complain to me about the parking situation. there's a trader joe's in the shopping complex so like i think that tells you everything you need to know like anywhere there's a trader joe's involved the parking lot is obviously going to be a bloodbath. and a lot of people don't know that there is a parking garage like underground underneath the ralphs. and so i'm always like oh if you can't find parking on like the the upper level go underneath the ralphs. there's always spots down there. this is a heavily trafficked business shopping center that obviously our business hours are only taking place during like daylight hours. and this isn't even one of those parking garages that has like you know what like a spiral like double helix. like some parking garages are genuinely crazy and scary just because of the way they're laid out. this is literally one level underneath. there's all the employees who work in the center parked down there like there's always spots down there and there's always other people in the area. but you would think that i just told some of people to park their car in like an active war zone the way they react. they go oh my god no it's scary down there i don't go down there. why? why? or i take like public transit in san diego and i like walk a lot of places. i don't have a car. my husband and i were like a single car household but he's the one that takes the car to work every day. so like i'm oftentimes vibing without a car. and look at me i'm still breathing i'm still standing tall after you know all these harrowing years of taking public transportation. people get frightened when i tell them this. they like cannot comprehend that i'm like not just getting assaulted constantly on like the bus and trolley or like you know getting mugged at every turn when i'm like walking through the neighborhood. and yes i carry pepper spray. like there's things that we need to do to like protect ourselves because there is violence and there is danger in the world. but i feel like people who are operating in this way are not operating from a place of rational thought. and i just think it must be a really exhausting way to exist. like it's the same you know condition that plagues the mama bears who like get on tiktok after they go to target and they say oh my gosh there was a guy in the same aisle as me i think he was trying to traffic me and my littles. no he wasn't. assuming the worst from every person around you all the time it at some point it turns into a self-fulfilling prophecy. there is just something so irritating to me about someone who like consistently perceives everything around them as a threat. every parking lot is scary. walking outside anywhere is scary. anybody who's kind of existing in the area is scary and they're going to hurt you. like i just it pisses me off. it pisses me off and i can't be around it.
