things that are over engineered PMO

Something that pisses me off a lot are things in our society that are over-engineered. So in other words, are like made to be more technologically advanced, but it actually just makes them shittier and harder to use. I mean, I made a little list, but I'm way too impatient to try and cover them all up. So I'm just gonna go one by one and you can see which ones are up. The first one is locks on doors and I mean like the door to get into your house or apartment is insane. I also had one in my old apartment and it would break all the time and there was no like backup. So if it was broken, there was no way for me to get in. And if there was a backup where I could just use a key, like I think that's fine. But having no backup is crazy. And honestly, a key works just fine. Like what's wrong with keys? Keys are great. Like let's stick to what we know. On the same subject of keys are great, door handles on cars, especially Teslas. The ones that like the handles go in. I'm like, why do we need this? Like normal door handles are just fine. This is so annoying and that drives me nuts. And I just think it's so stupid. Like bring back door handles. And then adjacent to that is cars in general. And you know, I'm talking about cars with those fuck ass iPad screens in the front. Like nobody needs an iPad in the car. There was a point in time, maybe like five years ago, where screens were like as big as they ever needed to be. People are already more distracted than they have ever been. So like, why are we giving them more reasons to be distracted? Like, why are we giving them more reasons to be distracted? Apps to order food is another one. Like I want to be getting my loyalty points, but now I have an app for like McDonald's, Wendy's, Chipotle, Qdoba, like I have an app for everything and I have to use the app to order. And it's ridiculous. And now I'm getting push notifications from Wendy's on a Tuesday afternoon. It's just too much. I wish I could just get like a physical card to swipe and get my points every time I order or like place an online order, just use like a code. Also, like don't need to be hidden in the face with how much I eat. Thank you. Last but not least is Amazon overnight shipping, which I know is controversial because people love this. But there's this new feature where you can decide the window of time when it's delivered to you. The window starts at 4:00 AM to 7:00 AM. And I'm like, I'm so sorry to what whatever they're doing for these delivery drivers to make them become to my house at 4:00 AM. I'm like, 12:00 PM or 1:00 PM delivery is totally acceptable. You're already over-nighting it. It's not like I need them to come before the sun is up. And again, I understand that for some instances where you're maybe going on a trip, this is like a lifesaver. But I just think this is like an insane thing that we don't need as a society. Like you should just plan better than needing to overnight ship something and have it arrive for AM. The next day.
