client comes to my office he wants to buy Google he wants to buy Google stock I think we can get a better value proposition by buying the options on Google so let's take a look what if right now Google's trading a 240 share so the client can actually put into an option position for next let's say year and a half or so where I can give him a leveraged upside from spot this would be the leveraged upside but I can give him a little bit better on the downside but not much the nice the value proposition there is if Google is down 30 he's only down 27 pretty much capturing the downside but where the value proposition is if Google's up 40 he's up almost 70% and that's what options can do you can't do that with with stock and I can manage that position which means as the market is running I can re hedge I can protect that leverage position that's why options are always a better trade than just owning spot
