So this might be the hardest freshman and sophomore software engineering recruiting cycle in recent history. And not just because Nvidia Ignite released OAs for software engineering and hardware engineering in previous years, but also because there are fewer programs available. We're talking TIP by capital, one being canceled, Meta University being canceled, Google STEP being canceled, supposedly being folded into software engineering interview. One today is Nvidia Ignite releasing OAs when there was no OA last year. Last year's Nvidia Ignite candidates, a bunch of me across TikTok and Instagram, were straight to interviews. Now the interviews were pretty team dependent, like it was the luck of the draw if you were going to get grilled on behavioral or if you get lead code problems. But this year, every single software engineering or hardware engineering Ignite candidate who did not get application screen for a bad essay or something else, one of those people will have to take an OA. Candidates that is 75 minutes long. For software engineering candidates, it is 90 minutes long. But the good news is this OA seems to mostly have lead code easies. So I recommend you go study based on the always that they used to give out and based on the always are like. Now that I've my Instagram community, you should be studying lead code easy problems. We're talking 25 to 30 lead code easy problems, like Fizz Buzz, like anagrams problems, string problems, bit problems, array problems, sort of stuff you encounter in your like CS 101, CS 102, first two introductory computer science classes. Make sure you ace those homework assignments and are capable of solving any one of those types of problems. That I think will actually trip you up if you are in video Ignite, uh applicant is actually the multiple choice portion. So you might run into some multiple choice questions that historically have been operating systems based. And operating systems that's meant for we're talking college seniors class, but you probably don't have to go that in depth because video Ignite is meant for freshman and sophomore. So maybe open up Google Gemini, ChatGPT, Claude, or even just and learn these uh topics right here. We're talking threads, talking processes, forking, these are basic operating systems concepts. And if you get them in the way that in previous years, in previous years, some of my Instagram followers who long time Instagram, TikTok followers, they were asked questions like that. I wouldn't be shocked if you get those questions again now. Now, if you're a hardware engineering student, it seems like things haven't changed that much last year from last year. Hardware engineering people just focus on basic circuit design, uh digital processes, just standard hardware questions. Um, but in general, there are always I believe this is a flood of applications partly because I posted about Nvidia Ignite several times and got crazy responses and to there aren't that many freshman sophomore internship programs left in 2025.
