I applied to 91 software engineering internships for summer 2025 and this is how it went. Out of 91 applications, I got rejected or ghosted from 68 companies, which means that my resume was passing around 25% of the screenings. From here, I got 16 OAs, some of which were automatic like Snowflake, which I failed. But from the 16 OAs, I got 11 interviews. You can see here that I actually skipped the OA for 7 different companies and that included 4 Apple interviews, which I'm so grateful for. I got to the final round for a lot of companies like Notion, Datadog, Ramp, Pinterest, and I got rejected from all of them, and to be exact, 10 companies, which was really heartbreaking because some of these were my dream companies. After so many interviews and rejections, my mental health was deteriorating near the end of 2024, so I had to withdraw from 3 interviews, one of which included Riot Games. In the end, I got 5 offers, which included Apple, Rippling, Snapchat, Amazon, and Lyft. I am beyond grateful for all these opportunities and yes, I'm a big believer in persistence and not giving up, but at the same time, please make sure to take care of yourself because it's rough out there.
