Who Did We Hire? Our interns for the summer join us next week at Nvidia and I figured I'd take this moment to talk about how they stood out. What were we looking for for the people that we hired? We had over 4,000 applications for two spots on our team. And this is true for many of the quote-unquote top companies, which is why I keep telling you they can design their criteria however they want. First and foremost for us is what have you actually built using artificial intelligence and how do you use it in your workflows? I do not care what languages you know. I do care that you have agency to identify a problem, actually go and build the solution, and then try and market that solution. All of our interns had actually done this. And they did so by leveraging the modern tools. They know how to be productive with tools like Codex and Cursor and Claude code. They also can hold a conversation. They're very charismatic people that are nice to talk to. They don't mumble and they can communicate their ideas clearly. And lastly, not most importantly, but still important is that they have great GPAs from phenomenal schools. Anybody who says that GPA or the school you go to doesn't matter is lying to you. I can't wait to start working with them in person because if you don't go into office, especially early on in your career, that is shooting yourself in the foot. There is so much opportunity for young, ambitious, smart people. Get after it.
