Their other posts in the index, biggest breakout first.
Happy November. I still haven't purchased a proper fall wardrobe and everyone in my life right now is warning me about hypothermia. They see my linen and they say, where do you think you're going? Italy? Yes. Here are some October favorites of mine as a neurodivergent writer who sometimes uses shopping to regulate her emotions. First up we have the Korres Fig lotion. But Philomena, fig is technically out of season. It's November. That's my response to that. Everybody's sleeping and no one cares. Anyway, this has been with me on repeat since July. It genuinely does smell like a fig plucked fresh from the tree, born from a farm or grove that stretches far back into the base of the mountains backdropping the entire scenery. Up next we have this thrifted gem. A conch paperweight. I think it's made out of optical glass. It's pretty dense for its size. Incredibly reflective though I'm not sure just how apparent that is here. I'll try to insert a video. It was just sitting there in the store between all these ratty little mugs and worn porcelain plates. Next we have Dr. Teal's eucalyptus and spearmint bath and body oil. This is incredibly potent for its price. It produces a mildly camphoraceous aroma—this nostril-opening combination of a freshly cleaned dentist office and a eucalyptus tree—when paired with my Doctor Bronner's Peppermint soap and the toner I use on my body, which also has a pleasantly medicinal scent. Alone, it makes my skin feel really soft and hydrated for usually up to 10 hours, which is kind of surprising to me, because most oils just sit on top of my skin and make me look and feel greasy. I can usually get between 5 to 10 more hours out of it, too, if I apply a thin layer of Nécessaire fragrance-free body lotion on top of it. Even after Nair burning the ever-loving crap out of my skin. I want 85K. I want a sailboat. Do you know how many centuries I've been waiting for this? No, you don't. I've been waiting since 1557. That's right, even before I was born, before deodorant was even a thing. Salt & Stone Santal and vetiver deodorant. This is kind of what I would imagine the quintessential gentlemen's club would smell like. It kind of smells like a man's incredibly expensive aftershave. It harmonizes beautifully with my oil, with my Bronner's, with my toner. But it's aluminium-free, and for that reason, it's something I would wear exclusively in the cold months, because everybody needs that aluminium in the summer. Don't even try it. Totally worth the money. 100% recommend. This is actually running out, so I'm gonna have to restock soon. But I'm not even mad. I'm not even mad that I'm gonna have to spend money I don't have to do that.
