I built my exit plan while working full-time here's every side project & job that helped me leave corporate 🤓 Actuarial Analyst at Canada Life My internship experience at this company was amazinggggg. However, once the excitement of having a job wore off, I quickly learned the in-office 9-5 life was not for me. That's when I knew I needed an exit plan...I just didn't know what it looked like yet. Video Editor + Content Strategist at Etched Actuarial This part-time job was the start of my rebellion lol. It showed me the lifestyle I actually wanted: fully remote with ability to work whenever you want (aka time flexibility). Plus, I got to build real skills in video editing and content strategy. Founder + Director at Unreservd In 2019, I started hosting discussions on "controversial" topics. I did everything from planning shoots, scripting videos, organizing events & I even launched a scholarship. I shut this down in 2020, but this was my first real test of entrepreneurship. Actuarial Analyst at Canada Life I accepted a full-time offer with the company I interned for because I loved the people and found the work fairly interesting, but I was still planning my exit lol. I just needed time to figure out what would be next + I felt it best to get 9-5 exposure Community Retention Manager at Etched Actuarial I worked this part-time alongside my full-time job, and it was HARD. The actuarial career is demanding (ifykyk), but it was part of my exit plan lol. In this role I learned how to build community, engage members, and retain clients - skills I use every day now. Freelancer + YouTuber On top of everything else, I was freelancing as a video editor and creating YouTube content. I wasn't a full-time creator, but I was learning how to read analytics, make videos people actually wanted to watch, and position myself for opportunities. Founder of Kurate Media Now I run a marketing agency helping creative founders and experts to grow their brands. Every side project, every late night, every lesson led me here. ❤️
