Every time someone asks me how I got my first six-figure corporate job, I feel like there's some secret but there wasn't one. I got a lot of questions about how I got my first six-figure corporate job and what I do for a living. I'm a digital media manager working at an agency and I've worked most of my career in marketing. I went to school during peak COVID, so I really didn't have any internships that I could apply to. My job hunt, what changed my career was actually treating it like a skill-building game instead of a job hunting game. Instead of submitting application after application on LinkedIn, I focused on becoming a more valuable employee. And what that looked like was expanding my skill sets like learning all marketing tactics and platforms that would in certifications. I knew I wanted to work in digital marketing and e-commerce and social media, so I started watching current events to it. And when it came time to interview with these companies, I already had all the skill sets strapped to my tool belt ready to go. Pushing yourself out of your comfort zone is you 100% do not miss the shots that you do not take. And that's honestly it. My career did not change because I got lucky. It changed every bit. Replace
