In my feels about doing red carpet interviews at the TikTok Awards
Pre-show I was trying to remember that these moments are why I built my company!
So that getting ready for a red carpet event in our girly office is our Wednesday afternoon
Whenever we have events like this, I move around or completely scrap our company deadlines for a few days.
When I worked in mainstream media, I found it hard to enjoy these events because you were always playing catch-up after.
It's important to me that my team can enjoy these exciting moments without increased workload looming over them. Literally nothing is that serious!!! This is what it's all about

MEDIA
We've been invited to the TikTok Awards every year since they launched, but this was the first year we were asked to do red carpet.
This invite didn't come easy. It's something I've been fighting for over the past 3 years!
My brand has exclusively covered internet culture & creators since we launched (6 years ago before 'TikToker' was even a career!).
But it's been hard to convince the Aussie landscape to take us seriously, especially when we haven't had a huge "big break" moment.
We have lots of viral content, but nothing that has truly changed the trajectory of the business.
Instead, we have built slow and steady literally brick-by-brick
Sometimes it is really hard to accept that I'm 6 years in and still feel so far from where I want to be.
I know this is not great to admit lol but my comparison syndrome can eat me alive some days.
How is it possible that so many of my new media peers seem to be doing so much better?
Does that mean there isn't a place for us?
Will this ever get easier?
But while interviewing so many huge creators last night, they all had the same tip for success:
Just keep going
Keep hustling
Keep posting
Keep believing in yourself
Keep fighting for your place
And one day you'll look back, and find that you actually have made it
