Watch me transform this beat down, second hand sweet stand into something beautiful for my son's 1st birthday. And stay with me cause the message will make sense in the end. I had this idea that the kids should have a cute little pick and mix moment at the party. So when I checked the higher prices, something in me just said, you can do this yourself, girl. So I found this stand online and listen, it was rough. Even the place that my cousin in law, my cousin's husband went to go and pick it up from was like the ghetto. Like we were all scared. And the condition was bad. It was wobbly, scratched, dusty and neglected. Definitely not aesthetic because I'm the queen of last minute projects and doing everything at the last possible second. I only had 48 hours to turn it around to make it fit my son's theme. So I had to get to work. I stood outside in the freezing cold, I scrubbed it down, I was sanding it, I was spray painting it, I was adding vinyl little details. Cause I knew the vision, I knew what it could become. While I was doing all this, god started speaking to me while I was editing. We pray for things so when god gives it to us, they don't always arrive in like the pretty polished, ready made version that we had in mind. God, I want a husband. God, I want a New car. God, I want £1 million in my business. God, I want a ministry. God, I want a promotion at work. God, help me transform the nations. And so on and so forth. You get the gist. But because we're quick, I want. In our generation, god often answers prayers in seed form, not in finished form. Sometimes he gives us what we ask for. But it comes looking like this sweet standard initially. Then add a little sprinkling of the schemes of the enemy on top of this blessing god is giving you. Sometimes you feel like god. do you even like me? Sometimes answered prayers come a little beat up, a little underwhelming. Not quite what we expected. And if we're honest, some of us reject our blessings. Cause the package didn't match the picture we had in our head. But here's what God reminded me. He never gives us anything without giving us, like, the strength, Grace and wisdom to build it, shape it, restore it and grow it with him. Philippians 1:6 says, he who began a good work in you will perform it till the day of Jesus Christ. He doesn't just hand you something and walk away. He stays, he helps, he completes. And Isaiah 61:3 says, he gives us beauty for ashes. But we have to pick up the ashes, bring them back to him and let him do the transforming. Many people lose their blessing. Because they despise its early form. But what if the very thing you pray for just needs some faith, some patience and partnership with god? By the time I finished, I realised that what I thought was gonna be such a big, long project was just a small project. And it's looked nothing like how it started. But that only happened because I didn't give up on it. And I leaned into the vision that I had. the vision that God gave me. And that's what God does with us. He sees what we can become long before we do. He takes what's broken, overlooked or even worn down. And with time, love and surrender, he makes it beautiful. So the next time God gives you something that doesn't look perfect yet, remember this sweet stand. And remember the God who transforms.
