Losing a deal SUCKS. But most sales reps blow the follow-up👇 ❌ Don’t say: “Thanks for the update.” ❌ Don’t ghost the prospect or take it to heart. ❌ You don’t chase or beg. ✅ You ask a curiosity question (low pressure, high insight). ✅ You tie back to their pain point (so if the competitor misses, you’re the natural callback). ✅ You leave the door open with confidence. Follow These 4 Simple Steps Below ⬇️ 1. Acknowledge with curiosity, not desperation Say: “Totally understand. Out of curiosity, what made you feel [Competitor] was the best fit?” 2. Respect their choice, but frame future risk Say: “Of course, I wish you all the best with them. Just keep in mind, if they don’t deliver the ROl we discussed, you’ll want a backup plan.” 3. Re-anchor to their pain point Say: “From our talks, I know [pain point] was critical. If that’s ever still unresolved, I’d be happy to revisit this.” 4. Leave the door open with certainty Say: “I’ll check in down the road. Business needs change, and I’d hate for you to miss out on what we could create together.” Remember: the goal isn’t to “win them back” in the moment. It’s to position yourself as the rep they think of first when the competitor drops the ball (and they usually do). The best client relationships often start with a “not now.” I’ve landed some of my biggest deals in history this way. P.S. I’ve got a full rejection-response template that flips losses into wins. 👉 Free Private Training (Link in Bio) Share this with a friend if it helped you and l’Il continue making more like it! #salestraining #salestips #salescoaching #highticketsales #salesstrategy
