MY BIGGEST REGRETS: renting edition!! 1. living with people i met online (Bumble BFF & Spare Room) - people are insane!!!!!!!! (new friends too - sorry) 2. putting only my name on bills/being in charge of most of the bills. the responsibility can end up being so stressful when you have to rely on stingy/ financially irresponsible people 3. living in places with high deposits. i just know the landlord/agency is going to do whatever they can to reduce how much i get back! 4. living in old apartments/ apartments with 'old' wooden floors. my old room (in this pic) had a silverfish infestation & the agency just did not care! 5. not taking pictures or flagging issues, damages, etc - as they occur. have evidence of everything! 6. almost falling for home insurance scams! if you're renting you don't need it, your landlord is responsible for repairs, etc 7. accepting living situations because i feel desperate or have house- hunting fatigue. patience & faith will give you the place you deserve, trust me! yes, places can go fast but it's just like the flash sales clothing brands do, it will come again!! 8. not living near a walkable gym. if i have to get transport i just know im not going to be able to go consistently - especially during winter 9. giving the person with no/little renting experience the most responsibility (in this case, LEAD tenant!!!! and people whose parents are rich get invited to this.
