whenever i tell someone FINTECH CONSULTANT i usually get this response ... What? Oh. Okay. So once and for all, I'm going to explain what a fintech consultant is in detail, so do not ask me again. Just kidding, you guys can ask me any question you like. First things first: a consultant is an external expert who helps organisations solve specific problems. They analyse data, identify issues and recommend strategies to improve performance, efficiency or growth. When a consultant does this for technology related projects, they're often called a tech or technology consultant. And when the project relates to technology and finance, that's when they're called a fintech consultant. Let's say for example, a company wants to modernise the way that they currently handle their finances. They may go out or license a cloud system to achieve this. Even though the client has now bought the system, they'll still need help designing a solution to get the most out of it. It's like buying an iPad but still needing tutorials and tools to help you figure out how to set it up perfectly. And so with our help, the consultants, we would help them achieve just that. My team could be involved in the whole process or perhaps just one part. For example, in the beginning stages, we will find out their requirements, provide recommendations and set up a demo environment for the client. We would walk them through the demos in the environment so that they're able to visualize the possible new solution and build up on it. So essentially, we work with the client to design the solution. Another team may have actually already done these things and we come on as the implementation team. So essentially, we'll finalise the configuration or you know the solution design and we'll set everything into motion. So for example, we may have to work with the client to migrate their old data into the new financial system so that they're ready for launch. Another side of this could actually be project management. So in this case, you may not be directly working on the fintech side of things, but your team's expertise is used to make sure that the project is as successful as possible by setting up a strong governance framework for the client and so forth. A governance framework is essentially a structured system of rules, processes and relationships to help define the roles, responsibilities and accountability of people within the organisation. I felt like a smarty pants explaining all of that, but I hope that it cleared some things up. Toodles.
