As a Londoner living in the US, this is part two of things I've had to pay for that would send the European mind into absolute psychosis. Yes, I'm wearing the same jumper from yesterday. Don't judge me. To clarify something from the previous video, a bad toothache at 1:00 AM is the worst pain and dentists don't open 24/7. Secondly, people have been asking me why do I live in America? Because I work here. But anyways, let's kick it off strong! I saw a 2002 Honda Civic selling for $8,000! What are we doing guys? What are we doing? Now onto the next one. I know my processing fees for my rent were bad, but one thing I will never do is buy a house with an HOA fee because I know people paying $600 a month in HOA fees. Plus the principal, plus the interest, plus the home insurance, plus the property taxes. That is crazy. And what's terrible about HOA fees is your housing association can raise the price anytime they like. Now the next one kinda links to the first point, but if you do not live in a city like New York or Chicago, you are forced to buy those 2002 Hondas because of a lack of good public transport. News flash America, a couple buses running through your city doesn't count as good public transport. It genuinely feels like they purposefully neglect it, forcing people into buying overpriced cars, insurance, and gas. Last but definitely not least. This one annoys me the most as someone who travels multiple times a year. I remember I booked a flight from London to Turkey for two people for £20. And in general flying around Europe is an affordable experience, but the cost of flights in the US, from state to state are way more expensive. Not only are the flights more expensive, but all the products relating to the airport like parking and baggage fees tend to be more expensive too. It gets to a point. I know a lot of people wanna move to the US. So I like to showcase that there are pros and cons to living anywhere in the world.
