How I moved to the US + routes that may suit you better Here is a list of my favourite routes for people who are looking to move to the US And no, not going to tell you the obvious ones like just get married. To preface this, I moved to the US Through family immigration. That's when a parent, child, or sibling is a US Citizen and can sponsor you to move to the US However, with me being a transplant, I met so many other transplants and these are the most common ways that they have moved. Alright, first things first, we have the green card lottery. Most people don't know that this exists, but the US Actually hands out 55,000 green cards every single year, completely at random. The odds aren't the best, you have about a 1 in 350 chance. But it's free to enter, so if you haven't, why not? Now moving on to No. 2. We have the F1 student visa. Now, this doesn't grant you permanent residency, but the reason I recommend this is because it gives you an insight of what America is actually like before making the commitment of moving here. So if you're between the ages of 18 to 25 and you want to study, American universities really do hand out scholarships for academia, for sports, for business, for creatives. And if you graduate in STEM, you can get work authorization for up to three years. Now, this route doesn't directly get you a green card, It Definitely is a great stepping stone. Now moving on to No. 3 we have the H-1B classic work visa. Now, what most people don't know is that this is a lottery, and it's also going to cost the company $100,000 to sponsor your application. This fee was recently introduced, so it may change in the future, but for now, that's what it is. I know for a fact that there is a way better Work visa that nobody talks about, and that's the L1 visa. You can qualify for the L1 work visa if you work for a company that has offices both in your home country and in the US they can transfer you internally. No lottery and no fee. Now, last but not least is marriage. I'm sure everyone's watched 90 Day fiance. This is the most common way that people move. But I don't recommend faking marriages because not only could you get caught, you can end up legally tied to someone that you don't want to be legally tied to. Now, obviously I'm not an immigration lawyer, so please do your own research. This is just a stepping stone so you get an idea of things. And if you like content like this, drop your boy a follow.
