Right. Saving your first $10,000 is something very hard to do. And as someone who's achieved that, you realize very quickly that your ability to save effectively is directly correlated to your ability to say no to things. So here's a list of things I say no to that will help you achieve that goal. Starting off with the first thing. I do not gamble. More specifically, I do not sports bet. DraftKings, PrizePicks and Bet365 have the community in a chokehold. And if you wanna gamble with money that you're happy to lose, that's one thing. But if no one's told you, I will be the first. You will not get rich off of sports betting. Now onto the second thing. I don't buy gifts anymore. Let me explain. The world will try and keep you in a perpetual cycle of debt, and it's done in a very conniving way. Think about this for a second. In September it's back to school sales. October is Halloween. November is Black Friday and Thanksgiving. December is Christmas. Then Boxing Day sales, which roll over into New Year's Day sales in January. In February is Valentine's Day. And the list goes on and on and on. Not even including birthdays, weddings and graduations. The calendar year is strategically planned to keep you spending. And if you buy gifts every holiday, your finances will never catch a break. Buy gifts for celebrations that truly matter. Now, the last one has been a game changer for me and it's helped me buy things I only truly need. I'm a tech nerd and I often find myself buying products I don't really truly need. So I started treating the 30 day return window as a trial period. I recently bought the Ray-Ban Meta Glasses and after constant use for 25 ish days, I realized the product didn't fulfill my needs. I bought it, used it to my heart's content, gave it back and got my money back. It's that simple. And as usual, if you like content on life, business and finance, make sure to drop me a follow. Peace!
