Not letting a mechanic scam me again

So my mechanic just said it's gonna cost me $900 to change my brake pads and rotors. Let's see how much it costs me to do it myself. But first we need some tools. Harbor Freight. Pittsburgh wrench set. C-clamp. Car jack and jack stands. Steel brush. Brake clean. And they gave me a free mat. Then I went on rockauto.com. This is the best website for car parts. Brake pads and rotors for all four tires cost me $160 including shipping. Alright guys, do not be an idiot like me and make sure to get specific tools to get this job done. I just bought a bunch of generic tools which work, but I made life very, very difficult for myself. I was so tired after this, I went to African shop and bought pounded yam. I burned way too many calories doing this job. I'm not gonna lie: I ran into some technical difficulties. One of these bolts back here will not come off. So I have to go pick up the right tool. Just pulled up to Home Depot cause we're missing some tools. And this is exhibit A. You see this long tool in my hand? This long wrench. It's called a breaker bar. And if you don't have an impact drill, this tool is absolutely essential. I've never had brakes look this bad. For reference, this is what good brakes look like. So in total that cost me just under $400. And it took me around two hours to get everything complete, more like an hour and 30 minutes. But that's because I was trying to learn, record and fix everything at the same time. So it begs the question, if I would do this again, and 100% I would. I saved myself over $600. And now that I already own the tools, the next time I do this it's gonna be way cheaper. And the beautiful thing is, if my friends or family want to use my tools, they can use them completely for free.
