Do you want the secret to become an excellent closer? It does not happen at the end of your sales call. It typically happens within the first 12 seconds. I've reviewed thousands of sales calls within the past few years from reps from all different industries. Some that are brand new, some that are making over $100,000 a month. And the biggest place that I see somebody lose a call is within the first 12 seconds because your body language, your demeanor is off, your cortisol levels are too high. The second biggest place is in the call where you are asking questions and you're not finding enough problems. An average sales rep only finds one problem. Really good sales reps can find two, three, four, five problems. Here's an exercise that you can do really quick in order to find more problems that your prospect has. First of all, on a sheet of paper, I want you to write out the top five problems that your prospects experience. Just write them all out on the left side. What problems? A lot of people will think that the problems here are like issues from you, like, oh, that they don't have enough money to buy or oh, they don't have enough time. No, no, no. Those are objections. I'm talking about real problems. So if you're in marketing and you run ads, what's a big problem? Oh, they have low visibility, they're not getting enough clients, you know, so on so forth. So all those. Next to it, I want you to write out the consequence of what would happen to that prospect if they do not change. And I want you to make it dramatic, like the biggest, worst thing that could possibly happen. And write that all down. When I'm asking current situation questions, which is basically fact finding in your discovery process, when I'm asking those questions, I'm going to ask questions about the top five things that I wrote down, the problems. I'm going to ask about those. So if they're telling me one thing and I know that most of my prospects have two, three, four, five problems, I'm going to be asking about the other things on my list. Great cheat sheet in order for you to find those. The second thing that I can do towards the end of the call, I can ask about the consequences. What's going to happen if you do not change? And I can bring up possible consequences that can happen because I want their brain to go there so that they realize that it's going to cost them more to do nothing at all than it would be to buy from me because I'm going to help them get the outcome that they're looking for. I want you to save this video, try out this exercise and comment below what you got out of it.
