You now have a team and a team lead in Claude Code

Today, anthropic dropped the most important claude code update in months, and it changes everything about how we build software. If you're like me, you've been spending most of your time orchestrating between multiple local claude code agents. That's over. You now have a team lead that you can delegate to. This is so powerful. I'm gonna show you how i've been using it the last few hours and how it's gonna supercharge you, whether you're a solo founder building your product or an engineer in a larger team. I'm pete. I run a software development agency in new york city. We build products for startups and fortune 500 companies. If you saw my last video, you know my setup. I have a few frontend tasks and a few backend tasks running locally and a few research tasks running in the cloud. I was fast, but I was also the bottleneck. Every time one agent finished, I had to read the output, decide what came next, and then point the next one in the right direction. I was spending most of my time as the product manager and then acting as like a dispatch service, just routing work between agents instead of spending most of my time strategizing and planning what's next. So all of that changed today. Anthropic launched agent teams inside Claude Code. This is like a whole new level of abstraction. So you talk to one session, the team lead, you describe the work, it creates a shared task list. It spins up teammates, and they coordinate with each other directly. They message each other. They claim tasks off a queue. When one finishes something that unblocks another, the next one picks it up automatically. So here's what it actually looks like. I give the team lead one prompt. I say something like, create an agent team, one teammate on API Architecture, one building frontend components, and one doing a security review. Three teammates spin up, and each one gets its own context window and full access to the code base. From the lead's terminal, I can see all of them. Like shift up, shift down to cycle through and message any teammate directly. You can even specify which model each teammate uses. So maybe Opus on the heavy architecture work and Sonnet it on the simpler tasks. And they're not working in isolation. They message each other. So the security reviewer challenges the API architects design, the frontend teammate asked the back end about an end point contract. It's a fully functioning and collaborative team. You're no longer spending your precious time managing communication between agents. You're focused on high level product goals. Getting closer and closer to product management.
