Day in the Life: Mechatronics engineer @ Western I'm a 19 yr old engineering student at Western University but it feels like money is running my life 7:00 am goodmorning gang I've been working since I was 14 a hamburger restaurant retail store landscaping painting VC firms all different jobs but the same pressure underneath all of it 7:00 am get ready 7:20 am get dressed 7:20 am drip 7:30 am breakfast 7:30 am smoothie 7:35 am eggs 7:40 am eat 8:00 - 10:00 am circuits + ivey app independent I pay for my rent my school my food everything 10:00 am head out 10:15 am walk to class it changes the way you live and think because there's no fallback people romanticize working young without talking about the cost but it's very real sleepless nights wondering how you're gonna cover next year's tuition every purchase feels like a weight on your chest so I'm naturally motivated by money I want it badly but I work hard to earn it the right way and I try not to let it influence bad decisions and even though it may feel like you're at a disadvantage there's a hidden advantage in all of this you learn to be financially responsible everything you buy holds more value because it's truly yours and you come out stronger more capable and ultimately more free so if you're watching this and you feel behind because you're not making money yet you're not failing and if you feel stuck because you are working and it's hard you're not weak either you're learning responsibility and living a life that's truly yours take it day by day have faith in yourself and if this felt like you stick around because you're not alone steph.osmak
