If you really want to impress a date or a client, do this one thing before you even show up to dinner. When you call the restaurant to book the reservation, ask for the manager. Tell them you got a very special guest and you want to take care of the bill in advance. Give them the card information, let them know you want to leave a 30% tip and that you don't even want to see the bill at the table. Usually, the manager will come up and introduce himself as well. Makes you look like your somebody, changes the whole dynamic of the dinner. Just something I learned over the years in sales.
