three controversial things I don't think you should be spending any money on in your 20s if you have some serious financial goals. pets are expensive. It's not just getting the dog or the cat or whatever it is you want. There are so many associated expenses that I think hold you back from other financial goals. I want one, but in my 20s, I decided actively decided not about even think about getting one because it does not line up with my financial goals. Skincare is so personal. The people here on here that tell you to spend on skincare for choosing to age gracefully is a choice. And whether you want to spend money on products that help you stay looking younger for longer or not is your choice. As long as you're spending on good sunscreen, moisturizer, cleanser, and I really stand by that and I really think that anti-aging or aging however you want to age is a choice. It's not a financial requirement when it comes to spending, especially in your 20s. Zoom out for a second, just your 20s. The third thing, I was really intentional about keeping this down was my rent or my living cost. I kept my cost down by always flat sharing. In my 20s, I flat shared even when it got to the point where I shouldn't be flat sharing. And I think a lot of us fall into this trap in our 20s of thinking that we need to live by ourselves or our partners and that it's time to spend more money on a nicer apartment and like be independent. If you have financial goals and you're in your 20s, your biggest cost are going to be that rent, mortgage, and bills. Those always form 80% of people's every month. It's not gonna be habitual or food. It's gonna be that living cost is always the biggest chunk of your expenses. So the way that you can get that cost down is make the biggest difference in your spending. And I did that by always sub-letting or always sharing with someone. Even when I lived with my boyfriend, we always lived with someone else until literally a year and a half ago.
