Emma Grede isn't being honest about who she married. 99% of people are missing the entire point. The choice of who you end up marrying or who you end up being with is a very financial, strategic choice. It doesn't remove any of the romance or the emotions from that choice, but you have to acknowledge that it's a financial choice. Everyone's saying that, okay, she married the person who bought her agency, or she married the person who gave her the network to be able to start all these businesses, is missing the point that that is the combination of their resources that allowed them to do those things. Someone bought her agency, an agency that she had built. And then when she had access to the network that allowed her to start Good American and Frame, she's the one who had those ideas to use that network, to actually use it as a resource to then build this amazingly successful business or businesses. The point of being with someone who raises your financial ceiling is that you can use twice the resources, twice the time, twice the ideas, twice the ambition to take something a lot further than you could by yourself. And that doesn't remove the fact that they're also in a happy relationship. I think a lot of the people complaining that she doesn't acknowledge the fact that her partner plays a big part in her success are the ones who think that you have to succeed on your own terms, by yourself, independently. I think having that strategic mindset of understanding that as a partnership, you can go so far, is a really smart way to live your life. And that doesn't mean that you can't have success and you can't do things on your own, but you also can acknowledge that having the right partner takes you twice as far. Both things can be true. And also, I think we need to stop saying that a woman is only successful because of her partner or because of who she married and what they gave her. It's the fact that she chose to do that, she chose to use those resources in a way that she has, that's created so much success for her. But at the end of the day, we do need to stop poking holes in the success of a woman and trying to pin it on some man. But the bottom line is that choosing who you marry is a very important financial choice, so make it wisely.
