What is your major? Pure math. Do you think you can answer five questions every math major should know? Yeah. Number one, what is the derivative of f(x) equals x squared? 2x. Good job, one for one. Um, compute the integral 3x squared dx. Uh, is that just x cubed? Yeah, plus c. Good job, two for two. Um, what is the determinant of a matrix? Depends on the matrix. Oh, sorry, 1, 2, 3, 4. So a 2x2? Yeah. Good job, three for three. Uh, define a convergent sequence. Uh, for every epsilon greater than zero, there exists a natural number n such that, uh, whenever n is greater than or equal to n, like, well, you index the terms with n, and then you have like this big n. So when it's greater than that, then it means that the terms and the limit of the sequence are going to get closer and closer under that condition. Good job, perfect, four for four. Okay, last one. What is the expected value of a discrete random variable x with outcomes 1, 2, 3, each with probability 1/3? Uh, two. Yeah. What do you want to get into after you graduate? Uh, just research, pure math research, representation theory. Cool, thank you so much for your time, appreciate it.
