You start college in a month and you're wondering how to study for Calculus and Physics. I took Calc 1, 2, and 3, and Diffy Q, and Linear Algebra, and Physics 1, 2, 3, and a Physics minor. And the only C I got was in Physics 2. The way I did this was by understanding and accepting the fact that you cannot study the same for every single class. Calculus is different than Physics. You can use the repetition method for Calculus where all you have to do is just do the problems over and over and over again until you know them like the back of your hand. Barring some exceptions like disk method, washer method, shell method in Calc 2, where you have to understand what is actually happening before you do the math. In Physics, you cannot use this method because you have to understand the situation in almost every single problem. You are lucky and you're thankful when you get a problem in Physics that doesn't require understanding of a situation, and instead it's just math. That is why Physics is hard to a lot of people. You cannot just use the repetition method, like a lot of people do. It's not as simple as just using flashcards. So if you're studying Calc and Physics, the hardest part is just accepting that fact. Once you accept that fact, you'll take actions to be better in those classes. So in Physics, don't miss a class. I don't care if you got two hours of sleep, don't miss a class. I've never missed a Physics class. Ever. I never did, because I knew that the moment you miss a Physics class, it is 10 times harder to catch up. You cannot miss classes in college, especially in difficult ones. And when it comes to Physics, the professor-student relationship matters a ton. With Calculus, you can survive if you just know the math. You can get an A if you just know the math. With Physics, a lot of the time you are going to be reliant on partial credit. And if you have a bad relationship with your professor because you don't show up to every single class, that's how you're going to screw yourself.
