So you put in for, um, PTO, paid time off, for the next two weeks. I did. Yep. Listen, we're critically low-staffed right now. I don't care about no critical condition, emergency or something. I got nothing to do with that. I don't care. Cover. It was approved five months ago, Brown. Things have changed within the last five months. In short, we're denying you that time off, Brown, okay? You can take the week, this first week, since you already have plans to leave like you said tomorrow. I understand that, and I tried to fight for you on that end. You lost the fight. We're able to, I could have given you no weeks off. You must be Nah, not that. Either, I'm gonna be an employee and take off, or I'm not gonna be an employee and take off. Either way, I'm taking off. You get what I'm saying? Okay, I understand that. So if y'all are short-staffed, y'all are gonna be even shorter. I thought this was a negotiation, but the moment she said five months ago, I already knew. Five months is a long time. That's already been mentally approved by your family or friends and airlines. Spiritually, she already on the beach somewhere. And it baffles me how companies always hit you with the same line. We're critically understaffed. Oh, word? So the company being bad at planning is now my emergency. And here's the crazy part. Studies show that nearly half of Americans don't even use all their PTO every year. People literally leave hundreds of hours of vacation time unused. And even when they do take their time off, jobs still try to make them feel guilty about it. And this is exactly why statistically workplace burnout is through the roof. Because companies want you to treat your job like your family. But that moment that company has a bad quarter, your family getting laid off by a Zoom meeting and a PDF. And that line she dropped? Either, I'm gonna be an employee and take off, or I'm not gonna be an employee and take off. Either way, I'm taking off. That might be the coldest workplace line of 2026. The vacation is happening. The only question is whether I still work here when I get back. And companies need to understand something. If somebody requested PTO five months ago, that's not PTO anymore. That is notice. Because if you cancel somebody's vacation last minute, you just created a resignation problem. But drop y'all comments down below. Frankly, I feel like she gave a lot of restraint because I definitely would not have been so graceful. Share this video. And follow your boy Healer of Wallets for more money tips.
