Hook
I've only been here for four months. Is it too soon to take a vacation or am I just overthinking it? Let's see. I'll be out the week before Christmas and the week after. Oh, and let me go ahead and block off the week of July 4th too. Okay, I can't take off then because that's when quarterly planning starts. Then budget season, performance reviews, year-end. You know what? I'll just try again next year. PTO request submitted. So the company falls apart because I took four days off. That's a staffing problem. I may tack on a few extra days while I'm there too. We'll play it by year. I've had 147 hours of PTO sitting in my bank for eight months and I literally cannot find a time to use it. I stopped asking if it was a good time years ago. Somehow, it's never a good time. But they always survive. I've typed this PTO request four times in the last week. I don't want them to think I'm not committed. Maybe I should just wait until I've been here a year before I take any time off. *Took the rest of the day off* Finally picked a week and then three people on my team requested the same week off. So I guess I'm gonna have to cancel. PTO means prepare the others because I'm not gonna be there.
