ADHD made me build a notebook ecosystem.
Here's everything I learned so you don't have to spiral.
SWIPE
The notebook ecosystem that finally works for my ADHD brain.
START HERE
It started with Louise Carmen
Louise Carmen makes the most beautiful handmade notebooks on the internet. The softest leather that smells like a fever dream. She is also not cheap. So I found an Etsy maker doing a trifold A5 traveler's journal in the same energy. Same leather patina. Same "I cannot believe I own this" feeling. Fraction of the price.
The real problem I was actually solving
Every January I buy a new planner convinced this is the year. By February I've missed three days and the guilt spiral means I never open it again. The dates are a trap.
An undated system means you can't fall behind. You just pick up where you left off.
The brain buckets
The trifold holds everything. An undated vertical notebook for my calendar. Two Kokuyo Me notebooks — one for my full time job, one for freelance. Two more for general notes. A little pouch for sticky notes. Different notebooks for different parts of my brain. Nothing fighting for the same space.
Why this one actually stuck
The leather gets better the more you use it. It develops a patina. It smells incredible. It feels like something worth maintaining (which, if you have ADHD, is not a small thing). You actually want to come back to it.
