My parents said that quitting my 6 figure job would be the biggest mistake of my life. And honestly, they weren't wrong. After working a software engineering job for a year, I quit to build something of my own. I moved out of a big city and into a rundown apartment in Austin. I go to bed at 1AM wondering, did I just completely ruin my life? The inconsistent paychecks from freelance marketing made me question my future even more. That doubt always got worse whenever I was doomscrolling and saw my friends traveling or going out. I kept thinking: will I ever be that carefree again? That's when it hit me. My parents were right. Quitting my job was the biggest mistake I ever made for my mental health. But it was also the best decision I ever made for my life. Because I didn't trade away certainty for uncertainty. I just became aware that the uncertainty was always here. Pushing through that doubt is what allowed me to start my marketing agency. And that uncertainty you're sitting in is the same one that every entrepreneur feels. But they just learned to accept it. So keep going, because you're not as behind as you think.
