I grew up thinking Broadway was lame and just something theater kids were into, but boy, was I wrong. Tonight I'm heading to Gershwin Theatre to watch one of the most famous shows on Broadway, Wicked. And if I'm being honest, younger me would be laughing right now because I grew up watching my sister in plays thinking this just wasn't for guys like me. That started to change the second I walked in. The iconic Wicked green was everywhere in that building. There were shelves of memorabilia, and people were decked out in Wicked gear like this was their Super Bowl. The energy in that building hit different, and when the show started, it all came together. The stage design, every lights, the costumes. This is why people are obsessed. I have never seen so much talent on one stage. By intermission, I had FOMO. Why did I never sign up for a play or musical and be a part of something this iconic? I left singing the songs and finally understanding exactly why people fly from all over the world to see Wicked live at the Gershwin. If you've been on the fence about it, please go see Wicked for yourself. You can get tickets at wickedthemusical.com/tickets. Trust me, you won't regret it.
