She was a passenger and her the driver was drunk and the driver crashed and they were going like 90 on an exit ramp and she was shoved underneath the compartment where the glove boxes are. She was shoved underneath there and it was a prolonged extraction that took them a really long time to get her out. They were able to get her out and they got her to us and she was completely unconscious and maintaining her airway. So you can be unconscious and still breathing but there's like we assess different things to see like are you gonna decompensate and she had a moan and patients that have head trauma or brain injuries have a certain moan to them. There's a certain cry, there's a certain pitch and as soon as you hear it you're like oh fuck and she had that moan and I was just like she was like in her 20s and I was just like oh shit and her neuro status started to decline and we intubated her and they were gonna do a craniotomy. They're gonna cut a section off of her head and they were gonna try to make room for swelling and see if they could try to help correct this to prolong. And family was at bedside by this point and to do a craniotomy you have to shave their head and she had hair that was like down to here, the most beautiful black hair and I remember being in there and like shaving her head and being like this is so fucking unfair and they couldn't find the driver. The driver ran.
