There's a reason why viral scripts work time and time again, but 9 times out of 10 you will never beat the original. Cause when you copy someone else's work the quality shows. Like look at this example. Without even looking at the likes you can already tell which is the original based off the quality of the typography. One has a distinct style and you can feel the effort behind it. The other, not so much. And that's not me taking a dig at the other creator, it's just proof that copying people's work word for word doesn't quite work how people think it does. And when you do get caught it's not a good look. So if you're going to take inspiration from someone you should make it your own and this is what that actually looks like. We're going through the great millennial career crisis. We were all sold a version of success that literally doesn't exist anymore. We're told go to school, pick a responsible career, work hard. If you climb the ladder you'll definitely be rewarded. Your body is your brand now, whether you opted into that or not. Think about what success used to signal. You got the degree, the job, the salary. Those were the markers. Do those things and you've demonstrated enough. Now I'm not saying one was definitely inspired by the other, but they both cover similar topics and do two things really well. For starters, the hooks are declarative statements that spike curiosity immediately, and then they both dig into a pain point that a lot of people are quietly feeling right now. It's the same formula just executed differently. That's the difference between copying and taking inspiration. One lifts the idea, the other one lifts the thinking and makes it their own.
