How to NOT suck at Cold Calling. Why do you do the same thing? Why do you continue to call these business owners or whoever you're calling and in the first five to eight seconds of the call you do this? Hello, this is Cam from XYZ company. Is the owner available? No, the owner's not available and they don't want to talk to you. Why do you continue to do this same shit every single day? You know you're not the first person calling them. You're reading off this bullshit script. You know they're not interested. You know they're too busy. You know they want you to send them an email. They don't want to talk to you. So why do you continue to do the same shit? Here's my opener because in the first five to eight seconds of the call, that's where you lose the call. Hey Mike. Mike, it's it's Cam. Cam and Cash. Ring a bell? No worries, man. Hey, I was actually I called you I think about a week ago, but um I left you a voicemail. You weren't able to get a hold of me. Were you able to get my voicemail? The reason I actually called, I'm not actually too sure if it's relevant or if I'm speaking to the right person. Mike, who would be responsible for looking at any possible hitting gaps in XYZ that could be causing you guys to miss out on thousands of dollars every week? Who who would that normally fall under? Do you see what I'm doing there? Do you see my pacing? Do you see my tonality? I sound like I'm somebody familiar. I have yet to pitch him something and I have yet to go, can I speak to the owner? No. So now the guy's curious. He's like, who is this? Oh shit, he left me a voicemail. Is this is this a client? Is this who is this? From here, I'm going to get into problem awareness. I'm not going to pitch him anything. I'm going to get him to admit that there's a problem by asking him a question. Well, Mike, like how many times do you think you get a call from a potential client or prospect and they leave you a voicemail and you're just not able to get to them? Do you see my tonality there? Concerned. Now I'm going to quantify pain by asking a consequence question. I mean, if this problem continue to happen for the next, I don't know, six to 12 months, how would that affect your ability to stay competitive? I'm concerned for him. I'm going to get him to open up to me emotionally. Well, I I I don't know. What what what's this about? Mike, like I said, I I don't know exactly. I mean, to be honest, there's nothing to buy over this call, but Mike, how many calls do you think you miss in a in a month? Curious. Um, I I don't know, maybe 10. 10 calls every every month. And your average client value is what? Let's just say it's $1,000. Mike, so you're potentially leaving $10,000 on the table every single month. Is that something you're doing anything about? Now I'm quantifying pain even more and then from here, I'm going to give him a solution tease. I have yet to pitch anything. Just so I can see if this even makes sense for you. I actually work with roofing companies in the area to help them solve this problem. Mike, if you could have something that answers the phone 24/7 and you don't have to worry about missing $10,000 every single month, would that be beneficial to you? What do you think his answer is going to be? Exactly. From here I'm going to book him on a call that day, not a week from now. I'm going to book him in 30 minutes.
