If your credit score is stuck in the 600s, you're probably missing one of these five things. This is coming from someone that has a credit score of over 800, so I know a little bit about what I'm talking about. Number one, never miss a payment. And I mean never, because it will show on your credit report for a very long time. So do whatever you need to do. I highly recommend autopay, but this is one of the biggest contributors to either bringing up your credit score or really tearing it down. Number two is keeping your credit card usage below 10%. Just because you have a $10,000 credit card does not mean you should max it out. You really want to stay under 10%. Number three, stop closing old credit cards because credit age matters. And more than what I even realized is. Number four, pay on your credit cards multiple times a month. You don't want to wait until the due date because you're trying to keep that balance low, especially when the statement posts. Last but not least, number five, don't spend what you don't already have. Treat your credit cards like debit cards. If you don't have the cash, then don't spend it. Remember that an 800 credit score does not happen overnight, but small changes can lead to big impacts. So if you like financial content, then follow for more.
