It's the typical busy coming into Newark. They're about to turn final for the runway. Now, one of the issues here is you can be vectored over final and then have to turn and come back. But if you are, the air traffic controller is supposed to tell you he's going to do that. So, typically speaking, you're watching it on a screen in front of you and what's called the CDI. It's coming in and it's lining up on the center line of the runway and it looks like it's going to come and it's going to go and you're going to overshoot the runway and now you're going to have to turn around and come back to get lined up. It's just, it's not the way it's supposed to be done. So, they should tell you if they're going to do that. But does that happen this time? Not exactly. And then things get a little testy. United 995 Heavy, turn right heading 180. 180, United 995. 180 is a nice gentle vector to intercept that 220. United 995 heavy, descend and maintain 2,500. 2,500, United 995. They're descending to 2,500. Right about here, they're just about to intercept that final approach course. So, they're watching their CDI come in and it's a little line that comes in from left to right or right to left depending on which way you're approaching the center line of the runway on the ILS into that runway and it's, it's coming in, it's coming in, they're watching and they're going to go, they're thinking to themselves, he's going to overshoot us. And then why didn't he say? Because usually what they'll say is, I'm going to give you vectors a little bit outside the localizer or a little bit beyond the localizer, just a heads up that I'm going to bring you back around. Why? Because there's an airplane taking off out of Teterboro right now. And I think, this is my conjecture, I think the reason he didn't clear them for the approach to turn inbound into intercept is because he wanted to keep them clear of the conflict coming out of Teterboro. I'm going to talk about that at the end of this video, because there's some great new technology that's out there and part of that air traffic control redo that we've been talking about. I've got some inside information about that and you're not going to want to miss it. It's really great stuff, okay? So, meanwhile, he's on a 180 vector. He's about to overshoot final for runway 22. Let's see how it goes. United 995. United 995, he calls up. He's, he's a little ticked at this point, right? You can kind of hear it in his voice. Air traffic control is going to call back and go, what? United 995, go ahead. Do you wanna give me that intercept? You want to give me an intercept? Okay, so, again, I understand, but guys, you got to keep it professional. When you ask a, either a sarcastic question like that, or however you phrase it, just say, air traffic controller, what's your intentions? We're overshooting final, what's your intentions? You can say that.
