A Boeing 787 nose gear failure? Let's complete the analysis. While the airplane is parked at the gate in Frankfurt, you're not going to believe this video. It's shocking to watch it. What is the airplane and what happened? It was in Frankfurt, Germany. It's only six months old, this airplane. It was just delivered. It's a 787-900. The airplane had just flown in from Austin, Texas, all the way over to Frankfurt. They were doing the normal shuffle to turn the airplane around and get it going. Passengers had not been boarded quite yet, but they were loading cargo and other things. When this happens, let's watch the video. It happens quickly. I'm going to rewind this and show it to you again, because I want to highlight a few things in this video that we need to pay attention to, because that one gentleman that you see, you know, going from left to right on your screen, he's right underneath the airplane, but there's somebody else that you need to pay attention to. So, what is this guy doing here? He's got his arms folded, he's got his safety vest on. He's kind of looking at, it looks like he's looking at the nose gear. That's going to be important here in a minute and I'll explain. He's looking at the nose gear. I think he's most likely talking to somebody, probably somebody up in the cockpit. Looks like he's got a headset on. He could also just be having hearing protection on. Hard to say which it is. It's kind of grainy in this photo. But I want you to look right where the wheels are. Look directly up and to the left. See that pair of legs right there? That's a person standing underneath the airplane. In addition to that, there's a guy up here on the the cargo lift. So this, this scissor assembly over here lifts up the cargo pallets. The cargo pallets go into the 787 and then they're secured down. So my assumption is there's somebody in that cargo hold as well with the pallet that just got moved in. There's lots of potential here for for injury. Now, what we understand from Lufthansa is that some people were injured, nobody was killed in this, and that they were all receiving medical attention. So let's watch this again. I'm going to stop it a couple of times, because right now everything is fine. Then I'm going to talk to you about why I think this nose gear gave way. Here we go. Watch this. It starts to collapse there. All right, I'm going to stop it there. It's starting to come down. This guy over here to the left, he's kind of in shock for a second. The airplane's not going to hit him as it comes down. I'm not sure about the guy behind the wheels, because that whole big heavy airplane is coming down on him. It would hit with some force for sure. Let me keep it going. Boom, right there. And now, the guy steps back, right? It takes a a second to realize what's going on. He steps back from it, but look at where the the engines are. The engine over here on the right side of your screen, it's just about touching the ground. If it didn't hit, it's about an inch or two from the ground. It separates from the jet bridge. All right, let me keep the video going, because this guy's going to come back around. I'm going to stop it right here. He's got something in his hand, and I think that's a walkie-talkie. I think he's talking maybe to somebody up in the cockpit. And I'll explain why I think that in a minute. Let's finish the video. It's really short. He walks around the aircraft. I think he's talking to somebody, looking to see what is going on, probably heading towards the the steps that go up to the jet bridge to go up and see if he can find out if anybody's hurt or anything on the airplane. So that's number one. This guy, I believe is talking to somebody on the ground. So the video shows the damage. I wanted to highlight that that man's legs. Now, what's the investigation going to look like as the investigators begin to look into this? Well, they'll look at any sort of past incidents.
