AI Replacing Software Devs In 2026

The fact that we're midway through 2026 and people are still saying that AI is replacing software engineers is probably one of the dumbest things. It's honestly incredible. And the thing that I really don't understand is like when I use it, I'm like, it's nice, it's useful, it's like a very, uh, like nice to use Google search. But people saying that this thing is, is absolutely crushing apps and just doing all their bugs and all their problems solving for them is honestly incredible. I'm trying to figure out and just do some like basic authentication work within the login portion of the app. This thing made like five different use effects and one of the use effects had an embedded use effect. And I'm like, what are you doing, bro? Like, what is happening? I still use this tool every single day. I use it on a daily basis. But for people to basically glorify this thing as if it's like solving every single problem under the sun is honestly so unrealistic. I don't know if people are just glazing this thing because it's the newest and really cool tool, but for people to come on here and basically say, hey, give it the problem and just say, run with it. And they just accept everything that it's writing is honestly incredible. I could never just take the solutions that AI is giving me and just sending it. Because in the times when I have sent stuff like that, I ended up regretting it later on, verbatim, every single time.
