You do not need to hire a software engineer to build software anymore. The coding tools on the market are going to surprise you for a lot of things to build a basic application. But this is the part that's going to rub some people the wrong way. If you're planning to scale and take your software out into the market and have it be used in the real world by thousands, possibly millions of people, you're not going to be able to do that yourself. You will still need a software engineer, and the reason might surprise you. Yes, AI can write code, just like AI can write in the English language or any other language. It's great, but it cannot be creative and it cannot think systematically. Here's what I mean. Software needs architecture, and it takes an architect to build it. Architecture requires real-world problem-solving skills and creativity. That's not AI's strong point. Think of it like a building. AI is like the framers or the drywallers. Yeah, they can put it up. Most people with no skills at all can do that kind of work. But architecture requires lots of training, lots of experience, a college degree, etc. That's where we're at in the software development world. Is yes, the AI will do the coding for you, but it will not do the thinking that's required to make the application an actual success.
