One of the most life-changing things anyone's ever taught me is this. As long as you keep showing up every day, the outcome has no choice. I think and write a lot about what I think of as the anatomy of a dream. So what it takes to bring a big dream to life. The first and most important thing is high agency. So the ability to take action towards things, to go from 0 to 1 without overthinking, without letting your doubts and fears stop you, and without perfectionism. It's basically learning to prioritize imperfect action over perfect inaction. But then the other equally important thing is perseverance. Because you have to be able to sometimes delusionally keep yourself going after 50 or 100 rejections. Because as long as you do, as long as you keep showing up and believing in yourself and believing in your ideas, you basically give the outcome no choice but to eventually materialize. There are so many stories of people that we now admire for something incredible that they've achieved that really required them to drag themselves through a long, difficult period that was their chapter of perseverance. They had to drag themselves and keep going through periods of rejection, of hard work with seemingly no results, because they had the belief that as long as they kept going, it would eventually have no choice but to work. Rejection is just a sign that you're trying. It's just a sign that you need to keep knocking on a few more doors until you find the people that will get you. The period where you're working hard but not yet seeing results is necessary. That's you filling in the 99% of the progress bar that's going to get you to that final 1% that is the result you're looking for. Everyone you admire has gone through that 99%. It's up to you to commit to sticking through that process without giving up. Ultimately, I think that we are all unique, but we're not that unique. It's hard for you to have an idea so bad that you'll be the only person in the world that will see the value in it, and that's comforting. It means that your people are out there and you'll find them as long as you keep on knocking.
