People are noticing that the new Claude Fable 5 model is really good at this one thing. I've been seeing a ton of demos for Claude Fable 5, and the thing that stands out to me is not that it can write code, we already know that these models can do that, but a lot of people are using it to create 3D mechanical simulations and the results are surprisingly good. One of the craziest demos going around is this simulation of a fully working Swiss watch where the creator of this actually one-shotted this with just one prompt and was able to create this, which is just insane because these watches just have so many little details and gears and everything is actually working correctly and is coherent of a working watch. So that is really crazy. Some other stuff that people have built is this humanoid robot model where you can actually take the pieces apart and see what they do. Someone built a V8 engine style assembly and also just browser based CAD objects. And although not all of these demos are perfect, you can certainly see where these AI models are heading. Fable 5 seems to be taking that step forward towards an AI that can reason about physical objects, not just text and code. And that could be a big deal for engineers, product designers, robotics people, game developers, and anybody working with 3D prototypes now. Now I don't think that this means it's replacing CAD engineers, real engineers are still very much needed, but it does mean that the starting point is changing. So instead of opening CAD software and manually modelling every part from scratch, you might just describe what you want, let the AI generate a working 3D model and then refine it from there. That is the kind of shift that we're seeing with this new Fable 5 model.
