Anthropic might have just accidentally leaked their next AI model, and according to their own documents, it is so powerful they are treating it like a cyber security threat. They accidentally exposed internal documents in a blog post about a new AI model called Claude Mythos. And according to the leak, it is by far the most powerful AI model that they've ever built. The internal code name for it is Capybara, and it is supposedly a whole new tier above Opus. The leaked documents say that it gets dramatically higher scores than Claude Opus 4.6 on things like software coding, academic reasoning, and cyber security. But here is the wild part. Anthropic says the model is so good at cyber security tasks that they are worried about releasing it too quickly. Basically, they think that it could find and exploit vulnerabilities faster than defenders could fix them. So their plan is to release it to cyber security experts first so that they can strengthen their systems before the model goes public, which is kind of insane if you think about it. We are now getting to the point where these AI models are being treated like dual use technology, useful for defense, but also potentially dangerous. Some reports even suggest that the model could be massively larger than previous Claude models and extremely expensive to run. If this thing is already outperforming current models in testing, imagine what happens once the next generation of GPUs comes online later this year. AI progress might be moving even faster than people realize. Give me a follow and join the discord in my bio if you want to keep up with this AI space.
